The DUB Quiz

The traditional Friday night entertainment from TRSAC is on tour with only one stop - Revision!

Fast paced quiz going through as many categories and demos as possible. Going through classics and lesser known productions from the last 25 years. This time, the three ordinary teams will compete against a new team, everyone else! So the categories will of course be tougher than usual!

Should you feel an urge to show off your knowledge, shout as loud as you can at dwarf (before easter) or ... you know, send an email. The teams have yet to be decided, and some fresh, not yet seen contestants, would be great. (Okkie, Havoc and Maali, you do not need to apply since you are banned as contestants. The only good thing to be said about your performance in 2012 was Okkies rather puny attempt of throwing a shoe).

The Meteoriks

We are very proud to host the prizegiving ceremony of The Meteoriks - an award to honor demoscene productions of 2015.

The winners of 11 community-chosen categories as well as a New Talent and Public Choice award will be presented to the public on Friday, March 25th, 20:00.

A screening of all winner entries will take place on Saturday, March 26th, 21:00 in the seminar area.

For those staying at home, both the ceremony and the screening will be streamed live and made available on YouTube afterwards.

Shader Showdown - Live Coding Competition

They started it in 2013 at WeCan, then Revision gave the livecoders the big stage they deserve, and now it's 2016 and they are back once again and hungrier than ever before.

On Friday night and Saturday afternoon - the ultimate fight of knowledge, persistence and crowd-pleasing skills will again take place: The Shader Showdown Live Coding Competition.

What does it all mean? At Revision 2016, 8 coders will compete one-on-one in a live-shader-coding single elimination tournament over two days.

On Friday - The Elimination Round: Four battles where the respective winners move to the Saturday Finals.
On Saturday - The Finals: Two battles in the Semifinals and one breathtaking Final round to determine the ultimate live-coder!

The crowd can watch both coders in split-screen mode. An audio feed will be provided by a DJ - who will play to the visuals the coders produce on the screen. All battles will be moderated live by hosts who can't code and coders who can't host. Winners will be determined by crowd voting.

Interested in participating? As always, the most important ingredients for a successful live coding competition are the coders. In the two previous editions of the Shader Showdown the Revision audience has witnessed great feats of coding prowess as well as some instances of spectacular failure. If you think you can achieve greatness again, if you want to redeem yourself from your less than stellar previous performance, or if you want to show the world that you can beat the coders who have graced our stage so far- in any of those cases, this is your opportunity.
Please send your application to hotline-2016@revision-party.net. In order to be eligible for competition, you have to be present in or near the E Werk and available to compete on stage between 22.00 on Friday, March 25th and 14.30 on Saturday, March 26th.

We'd like to emphasize that the organizing team is welcoming applications from demoscene veterans as well as new recruits, or even complete outsiders. Last but not least, if you are a true multimedia artist who has DJ skills besides an excellent grasp of shader coding techniques, please do not forget to mention that in your application. We'll announce the eight contestants roughly one week before Revision!

Revision 5k Run

The traditional SPORT(ish) event you all love will happen again: The fun (exhausting) 5k Run!

And you can be part of it! All you need to do is to bring your running gear and show up at the infodesk on March 26th 2016 (Saturday morning) at around 11:00

Even if you're out of shape or very shapely - just do it. Even D.Fox did it at TRSAC and came in superlast! But he prevailed to live another day.

And don't worry about getting lost - we'll take good care of you during the run! We even hired professional Norwegian and Danish runners to help make this work! Guaranteed!

And afterwards, you will feel good (pain) and fuzzy (tired) and warm (dead) inside. You will be on top of the world. And you should have plenty of time to take a shower, grab a beer and be ready for the first compo of the day.

Did we mention that we stole this idea from the TRSAC organizers? Now you know - all credits go to them!
